Engineers from Coventry have been involved in the two-year project to create a prototype electric motorbike for Triumph.
Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled images showing what its first electric motorcycle is likely to look like. The motorcycle manufacturer, based in Hinckley, have developed this prototype to begin their journey into the electrified future. Triumph has been a part of the Project TE-1 initiative, working with Williams Advanced Engineering, which is the technology and battery division of the Williams Formula One racing team.
The statistics predicted by Triumph would outperform any electric motorbike on the market, for example the electric motor, developed by Integral Powertrain and University of Warwick, is said to have a better range than its competitors. The bike will be going through the next stages to potentially see it on our roads.
The funding for this prototype has come from the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles, as a part of their aim to push for sustainable and ecological transport in our near future.
