Coventry based electric motorcycle, Maeving have just seen their first 100 units shipped to consumers.
The Maeving RM-1 is an electric motorcycle adored with retro stylings. Featuring a removable dual battery system, 40-80 miles range and a 45 mph top speed. Borrowing from design features from classic English cafe racers, the Maeving has a retro character, a great alternative to the more sport-based design electric motorcycles.
The leather upholstered floating seat, classic racer headlamp and rear fender mounted number plate holder combine to make this a unique modern-retro hybrid. The bike is available in a wide range of colours, from black, blue to a British classic green. The Maeving comes with no gears or chain, meaning low maintenance and reduced moving parts to go wrong.
Each of the RM1’s batteries provides 40 miles of range, meaning a combined total of 80 if you purchase the additional battery. The removable battery system, means you can take the battery into the office or home with you to charge while you work or rest. This also means the battery doesn’t have to be left in the vehicle while you work, avoiding trailing wires, overcharging fees or theft.
The Maeving team believe that the removable batteries are the main selling point for the electric motorbike. The electric motorbike is designed and assembled in the UK by a 16-strong team made up of many ex-Triumph engineers. The business was started by 2 friends from university with a shared vision of starting a green business. A reassuring development in the business was the move from wanting to import of far-eastern made bike into the UK, to actually designed and manufacturing the entire bike within the UK.
Maeving will also include a servicing and parts infrastructure in their purchasing options and The Maeving electric motorbike is available to ride on a A1 license in the UK.
