Livall have created a Pikaboost electric bike conversion kit, is a pocket sized kit that can turn your start pedal bike, into an electric bike. This system is currently available on kickstarter for funding. This company are promising a ‘tool-free’ installation and a universal compatibility with all bikes.
This system will also include regenerative and also a rear light and is called a ‘direct drive’ that attaches to the seat post. Pikaboost weighs approximately 3kg, provides the power of a 250W motor with a 180Wh battery. With the range extending via the regenerative braking.
The Pikaboost includes three riding modes; ‘Hold’ which maintains consistent speed even when not pedalling, ‘Roll’ which gives uphill assistance but stops and recharges on the flats, and ‘Sport’ which operates constantly.
The PikaBoost drive system is available on Kickstarter at an early bird price of $299 and will become $599 at full price. Other systems exist that attempt similar concepts, such as the Rubbee and the Revos eBike conversion kit system.
